How long have you been working out?
Pretty much most of my life. I played
lacrosse in high school and college (back in the days when I didn't mind
getting hit in the face) and have tried to remain active ever since.
What is your current exercise routine? I do Sonki's
classes three days a week and try to fit in a longer run during my days
off.
What is your motivation to stay in shape? Let's
see...there's so many.
--Never feeling guilty about my twisted obsession
with cooking and all things chocolate.
--Not dying of a heart attack by the time I'm fifty.
--It keeps me looking younger than sucking the blood of virgins.
--Oh yeah, it feels really good.
What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?
For the past two seasons I've worked as a writer on a TV series and the
hours mixed with the heaping amounts of greasy, crappy, sugary foods
available in the writer's room make healthy choices and time to exercise
very difficult.
What is your key to success? Don't drink coffee until
after boot camp...it's easier to make it through the workout if you're still
in a bit of a sleepy haze. Actually, the truth is it's extremely helpful to
find an exercise routine you love. I've been very lucky to discover that
there are a lot of outdoor activities I really enjoy. Having grown up on the
cold and humid east coast I really appreciate being able to play outside all
year long here in California.
How long have you been doing Sonki Fitness Boot Camp?
Wow...I think it's almost three years now. I think I've reached the official
addict stage.
What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it
affected your life? After my first week of Sonki Fitness I
knew I had found the core of my fitness routine. The workouts were varied
and challenging, the environment was supportive and fun and the people were
exceptional. I feel so much stronger and more fit since running has become a
supplement to my workouts and not the center of it.
What advice would you give to others about fitness? I
think finding the activities you really enjoy is the best road to fitness.
It also helps to not do it alone, but to find the support you need so when
that little voice in your head tells you to stop an even louder voice tells
you to keep going.
Any other comments? I don't
really suck the blood from virgins...they're too hard to find out here.
