BACKGROUND:  I was always an athlete, loving all sports. I played college and professional soccer and continued to play and coach at all levels regularly well into my 40’s.  Fitness was never a huge thing because I never felt that I was ever really too far out of shape.  I always stayed very active and never had a weight problem.

I moved to CA 3 years ago from Boston and realized that my “sports related” community was all of a sudden nonexistent.  Through conversations with my friend, Win Pescosolido (Sonki Fitness All-Star), I was made aware of Sonki Fitness, checked it out and was immediately rewarded with a new community.

What is your current exercise routine?  Sonki Fitness 3 days a week, pick-up soccer games, surfing as much as I can, gym workouts when travelling and whatever else I can do outside.

What is your motivation to stay in shape?  To stay healthy and be able to surf, ski and do other active things with my wife and son.

What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?  Trying to avoid injuries.  I recently had shoulder surgery and am currently trying to get over a hamstring pull.  The older I get, the harder it is to accept that my “mind is writing checks that my body can’t cash.”

What is your key to success?  I think it could be my attitude.  I seldom feel that I’m dragging myself out of bed to get to class.  I always looked forward to team practices and treat these morning sessions the same way.

What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life?  I love the fact that it is a 2 minute bike ride from my house!  And it has given me the incentive and opportunity to continue to challenge myself on a regular basis.

What advice would you give to others about fitness?  Try and get to a place where you can enjoy the process, the rest will come naturally.
