BACKGROUND:  I can’t believe it’s been two years of doing Sonki Fitness!  Time flies when you are having fun!  Prior to starting Sonki Fitness, I was walking and working out on my own and had hit a plateau.  A friend of mine told me about Sonki Fitness and in October of 2007 I signed up.  Two years later and 68 pounds lighter, I cannot imagine not being active ever again.  I’m in the best shape of my life!

What is your current exercise routine?  I attend Sonki Fitness 3 times a week.  I also train with a running group called Roadrunners on Saturday mornings and do my running “homework” 3 – 4 days a week for marathon training.

What is your motivation to stay in shape?  The runners high!  I love how I feel after the workouts.  Also, my friends and old photos of me (which I don’t even recognize) help keep me motivated.  I don’t ever want to go back to my old self when I was overweight and unhealthy.

What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?  My greatest challenge is forgetting how much I enjoy working out.  Sometimes I get home after work and try to talk myself out of a run or walk.   Once I’m out though, the hour flies by and I’m home feeling so much better!  I get such a high after working out!

What is your key to success?  Happiness is a choice.  There are a lot of choices to be made in life but I choose to do what makes me happy.  And yes, exercise falls into the happiness category!  It’s my time for ME.

What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life?  One of the great things about working out with Sonki Fitness is the friendships I’ve formed with many amazing people.  We support and motivate each other and have a lot of fun doing it.  I ran the LA Marathon for the first time this year, and I would not have been able to do it without the support of Sonki Fitness.

What advice would you give to others about fitness?  Find what works for you, enjoy it, and be happy!  Find that natural high through an active and healthy lifestyle!

Any other comments?  The pain is only temporary but the results can last a lifetime!
