BACKGROUND:  I have always loved to compete and when I started playing tennis at age 12 there was no looking back. I spent much of my youth on a tennis court and traveling to tournaments and loved every minute of it. I attended the University of North Florida and our team won the NCAA Division 2 National Championship, and then I transferred to SMU my junior year on a full scholarship to play Division 1 ball! Shortly after graduating from college, I worked at a sports marketing company where I met my (future) husband and enjoyed it so much I spent the next 20+ years in marketing. During the pandemic everything came to a screeching halt. I soon became frustrated with my kids’ increased screen time and when discovering other parents were having the same concerns my camp Go Time Sports was born. Having a business that combines two of my favorite things, sports and working with kids, is truly the BEST! Being a positive influence on my kids and my camp kids is a priority and my number one goal is staying present, living in the moment and enjoying every day to the fullest!

What is your current exercise routine?  Sonki Fitness on M/W/F + running, hiking and staying active!

What is your motivation to stay in shape?  Life is precious, and I want to be around as long as possible.

What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?  Making time for myself. It is especially difficult to keep up my fitness routine over the summers, during my youth camp’s busiest season.

What is your key to success?  I don’t sweat the small stuff and always try to keep a positive attitude. I also feel incredibly fortunate and blessed to have a career that I enjoy.

What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life?  I was hooked after my very first class! I love the beautiful scenery, the camaraderie of the group and the challenging workouts. I always leave feeling happy, accomplished and energized. After my first 5-week session I was noticeably stronger and faster. Becoming more physically fit has helped me tremendously with my profession and keeping up with my campers! Sonki is also helping me to become a fitness trainer which is something I have always wanted to do, and I am so excited for the opportunity!

What advice would you give to others about fitness?  Be consistent, find something that you enjoy and that makes you happy, and don’t be afraid to take some risks and to try something new. Signing up for my first 5-week session with Sonki Fitness before ever attending a class was a tad nerve wracking but turned out to be the best decision ever!
