BACKGROUND: The first couple of years I lived in California I worked out at a gym and had a hard time staying motivated. Then two of my girlfriends convinced me to sign up for Sonki Fitness (Thank you!). That was two and a half years ago and I am still going strong. I can honestly say that I am in the best shape of my life. I used to HATE running and thought I was terrible at it, but now I actually (kind of) enjoy it!
What is your current exercise routine? Sonki Fitness 3-4 times per week, yoga 2-3 times per week and the occasional trek on the Santa Monica stairs or hiking Temescal Canyon.
What is your motivation to stay in shape? I just enjoy feeling better physically and mentally. Also, having so many skinny friends!
What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape? Food, happy hour, and always having people in town visiting or going out of town on the weekends.
What is your key to success? I have a little bit of a competitive side which pushes me to always do my best in class.
What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life? I love being able to work out outdoors, especially at the beach and with such positive and encouraging people. All of the instructors are extremely motivating, and they help me to push myself farther than I could on my own. Sonki Fitness has become more than just a workout, it is a part of my life.
What advice would you give to others about fitness? Go to class even when you don’t feel like it. You’ll be happy that you did!
