PROFESSION: Public health, MPH
BACKGROUND: Originally from Miami, Trina joined Sonki Fitness in April of 2005 and has since lost over 25 lbs and improved her upper body strength by 50% while shaving off over a minute in the mile run. She has a BS from Barry University and an MPH from Florida International University.
How long have you been working out? I’ve been consistently working out for about a year.
What is your current exercise routine? Sonki Fitness boot camp three days a week, and occasionally power yoga and running.
What is your motivation to stay in shape? My motivation is that I am changing the course of my life through exercise. I will live a longer, more productive life by staying in shape.
What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape? I work long hours at night so sometimes it is very difficult to find the energy to work out.
What is your key to success? Constantly maintaining a positive attitude, realizing the power of my inner strength, and the desire to be healthy.
How long have you been doing Sonki Fitness Boot Camp? Since April of 2005.
What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life? Sonki’s boot camp has given me the structure and supportive environment that I needed to help me attain my fitness goals. Because of boot camp, I feel more confident and my energy and mood have increased dramatically.
What advice would you give to others about fitness? As soon as you make the conscious decision to change your life, anything is possible. Consistency is extremely important. Even when it feels challenging and overwhelming, know that you have the strength to continue and the most changes occur when you push yourself to the limit.
Any other comments? Since working out with Sonki, I have lost about 25 lbs. I feel more confident and I am much happier. I have a sense of accomplishment and inner peace that I have never had before. I feel like I have added years to my life.
