BACKGROUND:  I started playing sports at the age of 5 then began long distance running and sprinting at the age of 9. I spent my youth grossly overtraining since I was 17 years for the SAS, Australian Tier 1 Special Operations. Peaking during my training of averaging 5-7 sessions a day, the smallest being a mountain ride to and from work 40 mins each way. I successfully completed selection at 21 years of age and proceeded to serve 9 years in the SAS. I have been training at an extreme level for 20 years now.

What is your current exercise routine?  I am currently training once a day, recently switching from a CrossFit like intense warm-up to a 20 min cardio and then weight training.

On odd days I do long distance runs, maybe a crosscut session, swimming laps, etc. And sometimes I test myself and wake up and run an untrained marathon to see how I go, or do 500 chin-ups to keep the endurance and mindset sharp.

What is your motivation to stay in shape?  My health, being the best version of myself, duty to protect, and maintaining my strength and athleticism.

What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?  Military injuries, but most can be diligently managed with stem cells to regenerate and pilates to prevent.

What is your key to success?  Mental fortitude and discipline.

What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life?  Sonki has been a dear friend to me for a long time, and personally seeing his ongoing diligence to his clients and his passion to keep himself as a role model for them has always inspired me. Surround yourself with those that take care of themselves and hold you to a high standard. These kinds of people are the mirror, and Sonki Fitness is one of those mirrors.

What advice would you give to others about fitness?  “Never compare your dog to another dog.” You’re competing against yourself.
