BACKGROUND:  I am happy to say that it’s been about three years that I have been a part of Sonki Fitness!  I have always enjoyed being active whether it is through dance, yoga, or just going to the gym.  I found Sonki Fitness Boot Camp simply because I needed a change in my workout routine and wanted to be challenged physically.  After participating in the LA Marathon and training with the LA Road Runners, I realized how much I love working out in a group versus by myself.  Working out became so much more fun!  So when I found Sonki Fitness I was thrilled to have that same feeling of support and motivation from fellow boot-campers!  I love being held accountable by my fellow Sonki Fitness Warriors, and I am so much more motivated to workout!

What is your current exercise routine?  Sonki Fitness Boot Camp on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings in Santa Monica.

What is your motivation to stay in shape?  Simply feeling healthy and fit!  I want to always feel fit and full of energy so I can continue to do all the things I love! Having good health and staying physically fit is the best gift I can give myself!

What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?  My biggest challenge is attending class after an exhausting day of work—or trying to find the motivation to get up from a nice afternoon nap! I just try to remind my self how rewarding it will be if I just make a little effort to show up to class on time! It’s worth it every time!

What is your key to success?  Genuinely enjoying my exercise routine! All I have to do is show up to class and the rest just comes!

What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life?  What I love most about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp is the good energy of the people and of course Sonki’s calm nature!  The fact that there is no yelling or anxiety associated with boot camp makes it so much more enjoyable!   I also love the fact that I get to overlook the ocean, see the sunset while doing punches, and stare at palm trees while doing sit ups!  This has got to be the most incredible way to workout! I treat the evening classes like a fitness happy hour—there is always such great people, great ambiance, great conversation, and before you know it you are sweating so hard and feeling so good! Overall, it has made me a much happier and more balanced individual!

What advice would you give to others about fitness?  Make it meaningful and fun!  If you don’t enjoy what you are doing-it won’t last! When I struggle the most with motivating myself to go to class—I try to do just the minimum which is to get dressed, and to just show up on time—I am always inspired and motivated by all the Sonki Warriors.  If I am feeling too tired I just watch the person in front of me to get some energy and motivation!

Any other comments?  I am so grateful for Sonki Fitness! I have met such amazing people at boot camp and continue to feel so motivated by everyone! Thank you!
