BACKGROUND:  In 2001, I moved to LA after graduating from San Diego State and met Sonki in Santa Monica which we became immediate friends. My roommate at the time and I were invited to join his boot camp. I remember thinking how hard it was going to be at the early hours, and I really didn’t work out at all at the time. Anyhow, we really enjoyed it and loved working out on the beach and other beautiful areas of Santa Monica. I now live in OC, so I unfortunately don’t get to attend Sonki Fitness anymore.

What is your current exercise routine?  I used to do Sonki Fitness when I lived in LA but now that I live in OC that is not an option. So I do hot yoga at least twice a week, U-jam hip hop class, and some arm exercises at home while watching my little guy.

What is your motivation to stay in shape?  To fit in my clothes again. I feel a lot lighter after working out.

What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?  Finding the time with having a 1-year old son and running my own company. Also my love for wine. 😉

What is your key to success?  Getting into a routine and sticking with it.

What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life?  Sonki Fitness was really the first workout camp I had ever done. I LOVED that it was outdoors and the variety of exercises each time. Sonki is always so motivating and encouraging. The workouts are really tough, but fun with a great group of people. It’s been years now as I live in Orange County so I can’t make the camps anymore unfortunately, but Sonki’s encouragement really sticks with me and he certainly checks in with me often which is amazing. 😉

What advice would you give to others about fitness?  Find what works for you. It’s a cliche but true. And give something a try you might assume you don’t like. I never thought in a million years I would like hot yoga, but I love it now. I also think sticking it out for more than one class is recommended as well.

Any other comments?  I’ve known Sonki for almost 20 years now and just love him. I highly recommend Sonki Fitness whether it be his boot camps or his awesome fitness vacations. Can’t wait for Sonki YouTube channel!! Also, I would like to offer all Sonki Fitness folks a discount on my ticket site: www.mjoytickets.com & Discount code: MJOYVIP
