BACKGROUND:  I put on 50lbs when I was pregnant with my daughter.  Each year I lost some of that weight, but this year she turned 3 and I wanted to get back to my pre-baby body and lose the remaining weight.  I was tired of not liking the way my clothes fit and how I looked in pictures.  I have lost inches since starting Sonki’s class and have gone down a dress size, but more importantly I feel lighter all around, happier, and stronger!  I still have work to do, but Sonki’s class has put me on the right path and helps hold me accountable.

What is your current routine?  Sonki Fitness 3 days a week, beach run on 1 – 2 of the off days, and walking whenever I can! I try to reach 10,000 steps everyday.

What is your motivation to stay in shape?  My happiness.  I am happier when I feel physically fit and strong.  I have a very energetic 3.5 year old and it helps me keep up with her!

What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape?  Making the time.  And making good choices with eating.

What is your key to success?  Being consistent and keeping to a schedule.  And reminding myself why I started to work out and eat right, when I feel like skipping a work out.  Also, allowing yourself to indulge every once in a awhile.

What do you like about Sonki Fitness and how has it affected your life?  I love how positive the class is and that every person in the group is at different fitness levels.  All are welcome and the group atmosphere is encouraging.  I look forward to my 6:30 am classes every week.  When I first started, I felt very out of shape.  I was nervous to start the group class, but after my first time meeting Sonki I knew the class was for me.  I am so glad I stuck with it, because I feel both mentally and physically stronger!

What advice would you give to others about fitness?  Stay with it.  Change takes time, but you have to keep going.  Invest in yourself and your well being.  Also, remember making a few small changes everyday can lead to big changes in your body and self.

Any other comments?  I am so happy that I found a group workout that aligns with my lifestyle.  And I feel so honored that I am being recognized for this Award.  Thanks Sonki for believing in me and helping me with my time management!
