HOBBIES: I am an observer for local channel swims.
BACKGROUND: I am a marathon swimmer and have swum the English Channel, but I am always joking that I am not as coordinated on land. This is why I am loving working out with Sonki Fitness, as it gives me a chance to work on things like balance, strength, and improving bone density.
What is your current exercise routine? Sonki Fitness, pool workouts, ocean workouts, stretching, and walking the dog for recovery and relaxation.
What is your motivation to stay in shape? To be able to do what I love, which is swimming in the ocean. I would like to do it as long as possible, which means retaining strength, fitness, and flexibility in order to get out (and back!) through the waves.
What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape? As a working mom the challenges have been finding the time and getting enough sleep.
What is your key to success? I wish it was consistency, but I am working on it.
What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life? I love the sense of community Sonki encourages. I love working out with and meeting new people. I always start the day off positively after Sonki’s workouts.
What advice would you give to others about fitness? Find something you love to do, so you look forward to doing it and are motivated to participate in the less exciting parts of the routine, which for me is physical therapy, stretching, and strength training.
Any other comments? Today a neighbor called because she had fallen down and needed assistance getting up. I was so happy to be able to help her and grateful I had the strength to do it. Thank you Sonki!
